Included in the perennials sections are all herbaceous perennials and reseeding annuals, unless classed horticulturally into grasses, gingers, herbs, woodies, or vines.

Cultivation tips are given for many varieties. Unless otherwise stated, grow the following in a moist, well drained, slightly acid soil, with adequate organic matter and fertility, in a sunny or mostly sunny site. In most cases, herbaceous plants establish quickly any time of year. We do most of our planting here in the summer, and we find that a week or so of a good soaking once a day is sufficient to get most plants established. Once established, most varieties will need little irrigation during the growing season, except during times of drought.

Please note the hardiness zones and cultural tips. These are intended as a general guide, though your experiences may differ. We share herein our observations, but not all plants listed will be suitable for your area!
